Zero advance, and an EMI that’s often lower than the bill

You pay nothing to start. And because the savings begin the month the system switches on, the instalment is frequently less than what you were paying the DISCOM.

What’s available

Under PM Surya Ghar, residential rooftop systems up to 3 kW are eligible for collateral-free loans of up to ₹2 lakh at concessional rates through public sector banks.

Rates differ by bank and get revised periodically. Several public sector banks have recently sat in the region of 6.75 to 7.25 per cent per annum. Treat that as indicative and check the current rate with the lender, because it will have moved.

We deliberately don’t publish a fixed interest rate on this page. Any number here would be out of date within months, and a stale rate on a website is how customers end up feeling misled. We’ll give you the current figure when we prepare your file.

How our payment terms work

Nothing to begin

No booking amount, no design fee, no deposit. The survey and proposal are free whether you proceed or not.

First payment after approval

Your first instalment falls due once the system is installed and your DISCOM approval is through.

Subsidy comes to you

The central assistance is credited directly to your bank account after commissioning. We track it until it arrives.

Financing a commercial system

Businesses aren’t eligible for PM Surya Ghar, but the case is often stronger anyway. Accelerated depreciation can materially change the post-tax return, and commercial tariffs are higher, so each unit you stop buying is worth more.

For larger projects, a third-party PPA lets you put in no capital at all and buy units at an agreed tariff instead. See Wheeling and Captive Solar.

Talk to your CA about depreciation treatment. We’ll give them whatever generation and cost detail they ask for.
