We’re engineers who happen to sell solar
SunKraft Solar started from a straightforward frustration. Most rooftop systems in India are sold well and installed badly. A panel is only as good as the truss holding it, the cable run behind it and the earthing below it. Those are the three things a sales-led installer skips.
So we do all of it ourselves. Our own people fabricate the roof structure, pull the wiring, mount the modules, file your net-metering application, and come back to service the system years later. There’s no subcontractor chain, so there’s nobody to point at when something needs fixing.
We work across Kerala and Karnataka. A good part of our work is for families whose earning member is in the Gulf, which is why our process runs start to finish without the owner ever standing on site.

PM Surya Ghar gives ₹30,000 at 1 kW, ₹60,000 at 2 kW and ₹78,000 at 3 kW or more, credited to your bank account after commissioning. The scheme also targets up to 300 free units a month.

A home rooftop typically recovers its net cost in three to five years. The panels are warranted for 25. Everything after payback is electricity you simply don’t buy.
Your surplus isn’t wasted
Net metering credits the units you export against the units you draw at night, and your DISCOM settles the balance. Your roof gets to use the grid as a battery, at no extra cost.

Workmanship warranty on our own work
Modules carry 25 years of performance warranty and inverters their manufacturer term. On top, we warrant our mounting, waterproofing, cabling and earthing for TODO: years. If our install causes a roof leak, we fix it at no cost.

Our engineer goes through twelve months of your bills, your roof structure, the shading and your sanctioned load. On site, or by video call if you’re abroad. No cost and no obligation.
Proposal and approvals
You get one page: system size, annual generation, equipment list, the subsidy you qualify for, net cost, payback and a commissioning date. Say yes and we file your DISCOM and PM Surya Ghar applications.
Installation and commissioning
Structure, modules, inverter, cabling, earthing and safety testing, by our own crew. We arrange the DISCOM inspection and the bidirectional meter. You get photographs at every stage.
Generation, subsidy, monitoring
Your meter starts running backwards. We upload the commissioning certificate and track the subsidy to your account. Monitoring goes live the day we switch on and stays on.
The cheapest solar panel is the one you didn’t need
Before you size a system, cut the load. A BLDC ceiling fan draws about a third of what a conventional fan draws. Motion-sensing lights stop paying for empty rooms. Take a kilowatt off your consumption and you take it off your solar bill too.
We supply and fit that hardware ourselves: BLDC fans, LED lighting, motion-detection fittings and smart controls. One invoice, one warranty, and a circuit-level audit first so you only change what is worth changing.

Questions we get asked most
How much government subsidy will I actually get?
Under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, a home rooftop system gets central financial assistance of ₹30,000 at 1 kW, ₹60,000 at 2 kW and ₹78,000 at 3 kW or above. The ₹78,000 is a ceiling, so a larger system does not attract more.
It is paid straight into your bank account once the system is commissioned and verified. We file the application and follow it until the money lands.
What do I have to pay upfront?
Nothing. No booking amount, no design fee, no deposit. Your first payment is due after the system is installed and your approval is through.
The site survey and the proposal are free whether you go ahead or not.
How long does the whole thing take?
Installation itself is quick. Most homes take TODO: days on site. What takes longer is the paperwork either side of it: the DISCOM feasibility approval before, and the meter change and subsidy release after.
We handle all of it and give you a commissioning date in the proposal.
Do I need a battery?
Usually not, if your main goal is a smaller bill. Net metering already lets you use the grid as a store, so you get credit for daytime export and draw it back at night.
A battery earns its cost when outages genuinely disrupt you. Someone working from home, elderly parents, a clinic, refrigeration, or a house that currently runs a generator. We will price both and show you the difference.
Will solar work through the monsoon?
It keeps generating, just less. We size systems on annual output, not on a bright day in February, so the monsoon months are already in the payback figure we quote you.
If a quotation you have been given never mentions seasonal variation, ask how it was sized.
What happens if something breaks in year six?
You call us. Panels carry a 25-year performance warranty and inverters carry their manufacturer term. On top of that we warrant our own work, the mounting, waterproofing, cabling and earthing, for TODO: workmanship warranty years.
Monitoring runs for the life of the system, so a fault usually reaches us before you notice it.
