The short answer
Can solar be added to an older Kerala house?
Usually yes. Three things get checked at survey: whether the roof structure can carry the array, how much of the roof stays free of shade between about 9 am and 4 pm once trees and tanks are accounted for, and whether there is a practical cable route from roof to meter. Older tiled roofs are entirely workable with mounting made to the tile profile.
The honest constraint on an established house is rarely the electrics. It is grown-in trees and roof clutter that arrived over the years.

What differs when the house already exists
The roof is surveyed as built: structure, tile condition, and cable routes that already exist. Hook-and-rail mounting means tiles are lifted, not drilled.
Orientation, conduit and inverter position can still be designed in. That is easier, but it is not a requirement for solar to work well.

On an older house the frame is assessed before an array is proposed. If strengthening is needed we say so at survey.
Mature trees are the usual limit
Shade from your own tree can be trimmed. A neighbour’s cannot, so it has to be measured honestly.
Tiled roofs are fine
Mangalore-tiled roofs need mounting that follows the tile profile and preserves the water path. Done properly there are no leaks and no cracked tiles.
Cable routing
On a finished house the route from roof to meter is a real design question rather than an afterthought.
