Solar for offices, shops and showrooms in Kochi & Ernakulam
Trading hours and generating hours are the same hours. That is the whole commercial case, and it is a strong one.

The commercial case
Is solar worth it for a shop or office?
Usually better than for a home, because a shop or office consumes power during exactly the hours the roof generates. A unit used on site as it is produced offsets electricity you would otherwise buy outright, which is worth more than an exported unit earning credit. The trade-off is that a commercial connection cannot claim the PM Surya Ghar subsidy.
Before you commit
Four things to settle first
For a small business the useful question is not the annual unit total but how much of your trading-hours consumption the roof can cover.
Premises
✓ Whether you own or rent the roof
✓ Written owner consent if rented
✓ Remaining lease against system life
Roof
✓ Usable area after plant and walkways
✓ Structure and load-bearing check
✓ Shade from neighbouring buildings
Electrical
✓ Single or three-phase connection
✓ Sanctioned load versus proposed capacity
✓ KSEB net metering, not PM Surya Ghar

Questions
Offices and shops, answered
No. PM Surya Ghar is residential only. A commercial connection can still install solar and use KSEB net metering.
It needs the building owner's consent, because the system is fixed to their roof and the net-metering agreement attaches to the connection. Worth settling before a survey.
It follows your daytime load rather than your annual total. A survey looks at your consumption pattern and the usable roof.
